Yangarra Old Vine Grenache 2018

McLaren Vale, SOUTH AUSTRALIA

Sourced from 72 year old vines with maturation taking place in older French oak for 10 months. Totally opaque dark purple black heart with a bright purple dark red hue. Powerful crushed dark raspberry and ripe cherry scents flow from the glass followed by plum, red liquorice, subtle inky earth and light pepper notes. Possessing ample size, youthful, juicy fruits are underpinned by bright acids and muscular tannins.
Flooding the mouth are rich dark plum, juicy dark raspberry and liquorice fruits which overshadow a back drop of inky earth and spice. Opulent in texture, yet sturdy and fresh. Tremendous power and concentration with a long luscious but tense aftertaste. It is supple, round and deeply satisfying.
