2017 Domaine Jean-Marc Bernhard Pinot Gris (Alsace, FR)
A family estate situated in Katzenthal that was bought by the Bernhard family in 1802. Now in its ninth generation it has stuck true to its roots, but recently in 2012 committing too producing only organic wines. This Pinot Gris is picked by hand and made using native yeast, matured on lees in oak barrels. It has rich aromas of orchid fruits, spice and flint. The palate is off dry with high acidity yet still has a creamy mouthfeel, finishing with lovely honeysuckle.
2017 Cave des Charmilles Fleurie Gamay (Beaujolais, FR)
Located in the heart of the Beaujolais Crus vineyards, Cave des Charmilles are winegrowers dating back to 1835, passing on the vineyards from Father to son. in 1927 they started producing wines for themselves of exceptional quality. This 2017 vintage is no exception, winning gold at Concours General Agricole, big dark fruit bouquet, hints of blackberries balance this wines acidity. Smooth tannins and lovely long lingering finish epitomises the characteristics of Fleurie.
2015 Chateau du Grand Puch Cuvee Anne Laure Bordeaux Superieur (Bordeaux, FR)
Found in the Saint Germain du Puch, this beautiful family property is built around a 14th century castle. A stunning Domain situated on 190 hectors extending over hills and through valleys, gives you the impression of being in a sea of vines. This particular Bordeaux Superior had an earthy oaky nose with hints of leather, chocolate, dried herbs and spice. Medium bodies with flavours of Cassis, raspberry and savoury olives coming though, dry dusty tannins round out this very well structured wine.
