Aged in new French oak it’s 13 year old Heathcote Shiraz drinking at its peak. Dense inky black colour with a very dark red black hue. Heady aromas of liquorice, black plum and ripe blackberries waft from the glass with vanillin oak, scorched earth, leather and pepper notes ensuing.
Bold, rich and thick in texture the palate is awash with concentrated liquorice allsorts, dark chocolate and blackberry flavours. Ably supporting the wealth of lavish fruit is a stern tannin structure. Also chiming in for added interest are elements of toasty vanillin oak, earth, spicy leather and pepper. Excellent power with a long velvety aftertaste that’s laced with pepper.
